We begin with a canoeing trip across the Lagoa das Furnas, in the heart of Sao Miguel』s volcanic landscape. Make a short stop to enjoy the volcanic phenomena of fumaroles and boiling waters, whose temperatures are hot enough for locals to cook stews (Cozido) in the ground.

After lunch in Furnas, we travel to Quinta da Terca in Livramento. Using secondary roads flanked by old dry stone walls, on horseback we amble towards 「Mata Santa」. Revel in the variety of flora on show, and pass by the resting place of the patron saint of animals. This is a tour for those who want to experience the Azores, not just see it.
